Significant learning success in project management through our business game

Initial situation:

In project management, students are taught the theory in lectures. However, as the students have no project experience, the theoretical learning content fell flat as there were no points of contact. A lot of learning efficiency was lost as a result.


Parallel to the lecture, the students today play through a simulated project using the standard business game CarveOut. The students compete with each other and can compare themselves with the other teams using key figures. The game is very efficiently structured and can also be used by larger groups of students.


For three years now, around 200 students at Nuremberg Tech have been playing CarveOut every semester, learning about classic and modern project management in a fun and playful way. The dovetailing with the lecture is excellent and what you learn can be applied immediately in your own project. Our business games have greatly increased learning success.
